Pop-Up Parties Come to Carrollwood

The artsy trend has made its way to Tampa Bay.

A Tampa businesswoman with a sense for trendy, artistic fun is banking that Carrollwood area residents are fed up with boring weeknight routines.

That’s why she’s launched a new venture that brings “pop-up parties” to life. The weeknight sessions are staged at restaurants in South Tampa and Carrollwood and feature an arts theme. During the two-hour events, party goers receive hands-on instruction from area artists while also having the opportunity to check out the fare at local eateries.

The pop-up party trend is hot in big cities all over America. In some places, the trend involves local entrepreneurs transforming unused buildings into temporary hotspots. In this case, owner Jen Loveridge hosts her parties at existing establishments such as Flight Restaurant and Lounge in Carrollwood and the Wine Exchange in South Tampa.
