ReplyShane what if they really just mean people who own pit bulls that don't train them properly and give the species a bad name or irresponsible dog owner. You dont have a dangerous dog caged in the same house your 11 year old boy lives. Either way this should be investigated and looked into. We cant just sit bad and say "Yep thats a dangerous dog" and validate killing them without taking them off the street. This story has one too many holes in it and its more a briefing of what happened but amazing how many detectives have pieced together their own story.

Biz Marke is my hero, i mean my nephew loves Gabba Gabba, but seriously I have been digging the Biz since Pickin' Boogers and up to Weekend Warrior. Asher will also appreciate it but he can't write a letter or drive so its best he teams up with someone else that is equally geeked about it. This is only one of the hottest shows to hit the Purple Cow in the past decade also too!

What cafe do you run? I go to St. Pete and Tampa often for little adventures and ALWAYs need a cup of espresso or coffee for the trek back to Sarasota. I have heard when it comes to coffee Kahwa has a strong following up there. It is always fun to see how each local cafe put's their own twist on a morning staple.

On the article Sarasota Exploring Law To Cite Loud Music Blaring From Cars

ReplyThere are ALOT of laws that need to be passed to make the streets safer long before simply a loud stereo. Its not like you are a bat and drive with sonar and when you hear rap music you instantly wrap your car around a pole. Driving on a cell phone clearly needs to be put into the books long before loud music. How many people have died from loud rap music VS someone being on their cell phones?
In Illinois it is illegal for any exhaust to be louder than stock. Im not saying this is a great idea but survey says if you want to put a law to make driving quiet then it should go across the boards and apply for all situations.
(625 ILCS 5/12‑602) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 12‑602)
Sec. 12‑602. Mufflers, prevention of noise.
Every motor vehicle driven or operated upon the highways of this State shall at all times be equipped with an adequate muffler or exhaust system in constant operation and properly maintained to prevent any excessive or unusual noise. No such muffler or exhaust system shall be equipped with a cutout, bypass or similar device. No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor vehicle in a manner which will amplify or increase the noise of such vehicle above that emitted by the muffler originally installed on the vehicle, and such original muffler shall comply with all the requirements of this Section.

ReplyI'm not a fan of those annoying car stereos, but the fact remains that this is a law that will impact a very specific group of citizens. It is almost to a point that it could be considered discrimination. Lets face it though they have picked a group to fund the city that will not fight back. Wouldn't it make more sense for them to make a noise ordinance for all moving vehicles to have a certain decible level that they must maintain? It would be like if they allowed live music downtown, but no jazz or you are getting fined. How is are lows and highs of loud music any different from the exhaust, throttle, or the roar of the engine? Its not but the bottom line is simple. It is easier to ticket the youth than try to tell bikers and muscle car aficionados that they are too loud. You want to enforce a law great, just cover all your bases.

ReplyHow many pizza places or can we squeeze into Sarasota?
On that note dont need any more deli's, sub joints, or grinder shops that are pushing iceberg lettuce on white bread with square cheese or the flavor equivalent.
http://www.sarasota-fla-fishing.com/Italian-VillageDeli.htm <- The man who brought the best italian sub to sarasota! Looking at that page brings back chills. He sold the business a while back and now Mozzarella fella holds that torch with a killer grip! A jewish deli would work but if they dont take it to the level of Langer's then its not worth their time nor mine. -

ReplyIf I wanted credit then I just might have! If anything they should have asked me before using it so this could have been avoided. I'm sure if the newspaper used an article that you worked on and assumed credit you wouldn't be cool with it. They wouldn't because they maintain a certain level of professionalism. I expect the same from a business who has been around as long as the Marina Jack,
