ReplyLeah, some of the signs of human trafficking are as follows:
-Dressed older and more seductively than their physical body suggests
-May have cigarette/cigar burns, cuts, tattoo or brand signifying pimp ownership
-Will not look you in the eye; avoids casual conversation
-Anxiously aware of another person watching them
-Going into hotel with older person; no luggage
-May approach hotel employee who quickly gives him/her key
-Arrives or leaves hotel in taxi - driver seems in controlTo report a case of suspected trafficking call the national hotline at 888-373-7888. You can also report ongoing activity directly to 911. Even if you are not sure, don't be afraid to get involved and risk being wrong. Yes, you may be wrong the first time, but the second, you could save a life.

ReplyACT is an incredible organization and I hope that everyone takes part in their 10x10 Event. Within the article, air unit and air system were used to describe what was needed at the new facility, never air "conditioning" to alleviate any possible misunderstanding. I apologize that it still caused you confusion, Shawn.

ReplySo here's a postscript from the author. Justin not only guessed the answer in my back pocket was my cat Holly, but also guessed that I was thinking of one relative initially than switched to my sister Erin, which happened to also mean something to Nine and Numb's Kelly Clow. The "Civil War" was hysterical. If you have the opportunity to go tomorrow, it is mind-blowing fun for the whole family.

I was especially excited to discover his organization because he used to be my student at Lee Academy for Gifted Education. He is a great kid, wise beyond his years.

ReplyThanks everyone for the great comments on this controversial topic. Personally, as a part-time private school teacher, it disturbs me that we continue to lower our expectations for what our children are able to achieve.
