Lake Park Prescribed Burn Set For Today

The burn is expected to last through Nov. 9.

Smoke may be evident in the area around Lake Park today, but officials say there’s no cause for alarm. The Florida Forestry Service and the Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department are teaming up to conduct a prescribed burn today, Nov. 9 at the 17302 N. Dale Mabry Highway park. The burn is expected to last one day and is being conducted for site management and hazardous fuels reduction purposes, according to a media release from Hillsborough County. Prescribed Burn at Lake Park Today

The park is located at north Dale Mabry Highway and Van Dyke Road in Lutz.

Northdale and Carrollwood area residents might smell a little smoke in the air today. There's no cause for concern though. The Florida Forest Service is conducting a prescribed burn for the Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department today, Tuesday, July 3, at Lake Park, 17302 N. Dale Mabry Highway in Lutz. The burn will last one day. The purpose of the burn is for ecological site management and hazardous fuels reduction.
