Motorcyclist Dies in Ehrlich Road Crash

The accident took place in the early morning hours Feb. 24.

A 27-year-old Tampa man is dead following an accident this morning, Feb. 24, on Ehrlich Road just west of Hutchison Road. Javier Mercado-Cebollero, 27, of 14101 Farmington Blvd. was traveling westbound about 3:23 a.m. in the outside lane of Ehrlich Road when a van driven by Elias Tenorio, 45, pulled out from a private driveway, attempting to make a left-hand turn. The van traveled into the path of the motorcycle, a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office media release states. Mercado-Cebollero’s 2005 Suzuki GXR struck the driver’s side of Tenorio’s van. Mercado-Cebollero died at the scene, the release said. It is unclear if Tenorio, also of Tampa, was injured in the crash. The accident remains under investigation. Stay with Carrollwood-…

Motorcyclist Dies in North Boulevard Crash

The July 4 accident involved a bicycle, a motorcycle and a scooter.

  An overnight crash in the Carrollwood area left one man dead and sent two people to the hospital. According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the accident took place around 9:17 p.m. July 4 on North Boulevard and Patriot Place. A bicycle ridden by Randall Velten, 46, was attempting to cross Capital Drive as a 2012 Taotao scooter driven by Poblito Pickering, 21, was turning left onto Patriot Place from southbound North Boulevard. Pickering is said to have stopped or slowed down in the northbound lane when he saw the bicycle in his path. A northbound motorcycle ridden by Thomas Michael Hamilton, 59, however, struck the scooter, which then hit the bicycle. Hamilton died at the scene, according to a sheriff’s office media release…
