FDOT Projects Improving Carrollwood Sidewalks
Enhancement projects aid pedestrians
Road projects in Carrollwood may seem never ending, causing traffic delays and dangers for pedestrians traversing roadways on foot. However, two current sidewalk projects funded by the Florida Department of Traffic (FDOT) along Dale Mabry Highway are on their way to being completed. Hillsborough County submitted transportation enhancement applications for the sidewalks, according to Kris Carson, spokeswoman for FDOT. The projects were approved after feasibility studies. New pedestrian walkways started in October along North Dale Mabry Highway on both sides of the road between Fletcher Avenue/South Village Drive and Zambito Road/Carrollwood Springs Blvd. When completed in April of 2011, they will consist of a combination of sidewalks and …
