Spoken Word Artists, Musicians Unite For Anti-Bullying Event

Life Amplified 2.0 StopH8 returns to the Tampa Pitcher Show with a focus on anti-bullying.

What began in January as a fundraiser showcase for local artists at Tampa Pitcher Show has evolved into an all-ages community event beyond producer Deborah Kelley’s wildest expectations. The event Life Amplified 1.0 StopH8 first launched in January. The second Life Amplified show titled "Life Amplified 2.0 StopH8" will take place Saturday, May 18 at the Tampa Pitcher Show. "After the inaugural Life Amplified ended, as I thanked everyone and was leaving the stage, I was asked by a participant if I was doing another. Spoken Word Event Raises Funds For Good Cause

Last Saturday, the Life Amplified Spoken Word Event was held at the Tampa Pitcher Show.

The event titled "Life Amplified All-Ages Spoken Word Community Showcase" was held on Saturday January 19 at Carrollwood's Tampa Pitcher Show. The event drew 50 people and raised money for Redefining Refuge, a local nonprofit dedicated to fighting human trafficking. "I am grateful to the community for coming and showing their support for such an important and worthy cause," said Deb Kelley, who organized the event. "I thank Tampa Pitcher Show, McMcNabb Photography, The WriteOne Creative Services, and Minuteman Press for being our sponsors. I deeply appreciate our incredible talent for sharing their time and their voice. Many were first timers  and I hope this has ignited a continued passion for performing."

Spoken Word Event Sheds Light On Silent Crime

Life Amplified Community Showcase takes place Saturday, Jan. 19 at the Tampa Pitcher Show.

It all started with a conversation. Last year, Patch reporter Deb Kelley interviewed Tampa Pitcher Show founders Wayne and Cindy Valenti and their daughter Karianne about their 30thanniversary in the Carrollwood community. During their chat, Kelley asked if the venue had ever hosted a spoken word event. The family was open and eager. Kelley immediately volunteered. The event titled "Life Amplified All-Ages Spoken Word Community Showcase" will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19 at the Tampa Pitcher Show, 14416 N. Dale Mabry Highway in Carrollwood.
