The annual event will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2. Live music, vendors, demonstrations and more are expected to draw thousands.
It's big, it's fun and it's green: Learning Gate Community School's EcoFest happens this Saturday at the school's 27-acre campus. Learning Gate's vision is "to become the nation’s leader in developing successful students and advocates for sustainable living," according to its website. The school was one of 78 to earn the U.S. Department of Education's first Green Ribbon School designation in 2012. The event is teaming up with Whole Foods Market Carrollwood this year. The first 100 shoppers at EcoFest will receive a WholeFoods reusable shopping bag and a $10 off coupon. An additional 2,000 reusable shopping bags will be provided by MidFlorida Credit Union. Making a list of holiday events and checking it twice? Don't forget to pencil in Learning Gate Community School's Winter Shopping Bazaar. The charter school, which serves children from Carrollwood, will open its doors to the public from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13 for an evening of entertainment and an opportunity to shop local for the holidays. "We are looking forward to our Winter Shopping Bazaar," organizer Michele Northrup said. "We have a great mix of local artists, crafters and local treasures." Vendor spaces are available for Learning Gate Community School's upcoming Winter Shopping Bazaar.
Learning Gate Community School in Lutz is seeking vendors for its upcoming Winter Shopping Bazaar. The indoor, public event will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13. It will feature song and dance performances by the school's Glee Club, as well as refreshments. Refreshments will be available for purchase from the school and will include "winter delights, such as hot cocoa, eggnog & snacks," organizer Michele Northrup said. There also are sponsoring opportunities for businesses, event volunteer Jennifer Frankowiak said.
