Lawn Watering Restrictions Tighten in Carrollwood Area

Newer, tougher restrictions will kick in next month.

Carrollwood and Northdale residents might want to mark their calendars for March 13. That’s the date newer, tighter water restrictions begin in Hillsborough County. The change calls from switching from the two-day-a-week restrictions now in place to once a week watering. Hillsborough County Pubic Utilities is changing its schedule as a result of the Southwest Florida Water Management District’s recent decision to enact Phase III water restrictions throughout Tampa Bay starting March 13, said Michelle VanDyke, spokeswoman for the county’s water department. Lake Magdalene Added to Boil Water Area

Some Hillsborough County Public Utilities customers are under the 48-hour boil water notice issued for Tampa on Feb. 22.

As a boil water notice continues for City of Tampa Water Department customers, Lake Magdalene area customers of Hillsborough County Public Utilities are also being asked to take precautions. "The area to the east and northeast of Lake Magdalene has been included in a precautionary boil water notice, also issued to County water customers in Clair Mel and the area immediately southwest of the Hillsborough River and 56th Street," an alert on the county's website reads. Residents who are unsure if their water is supplied by Tampa or Hillsborough County, such as those living in apartment complexes, should err on the side of caution and boil their water until they can confirm if their service is included in the boil water area.
