This year, Hanukkah begins on the evening of Saturday, Dec. 8, and ends a week later on Sunday, Dec. 16. According to Chabad.org, Hanukkah starts on the Hebrew calendar date of 25 Kislev and lasts for eight days. For those of us who aren't attuned to the Jewish calendar, that translates to sundown on Saturday, Dec. 8. In the Carrollwood and Northdale area Congregation Beth Am at 2030 W. Fletcher Ave. will have activities throughout the week with a special "Chanukah Circle of Songs" event on Thursday, December 13 at 7:30p.m. If you feel like driving a little further south to Hyde Park you can take part in the Hannukah in the Park event where tallest menorah in Tampa Bay will be visible on Tuesday, December 11 at 6p.m. The park is located …
