EcoFest Celebrates Local Businesses, Sustainability
The annual event will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2. Live music, vendors, demonstrations and more are expected to draw thousands.
It's big, it's fun and it's green: Learning Gate Community School's EcoFest happens this Saturday at the school's 27-acre campus. Learning Gate's vision is "to become the nation’s leader in developing successful students and advocates for sustainable living," according to its website. The school was one of 78 to earn the U.S. Department of Education's first Green Ribbon School designation in 2012. The event is teaming up with Whole Foods Market Carrollwood this year. The first 100 shoppers at EcoFest will receive a WholeFoods reusable shopping bag and a $10 off coupon. An additional 2,000 reusable shopping bags will be provided by MidFlorida Credit Union.
