Body Found Outside Sheriff’s Office
Hillsborough deputies believe the man committed suicide outside the District III headquarters office on Gunn Highway.
A routine security check at the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office District III headquarters on Gunn Highway this evening proved to be anything but routine. Rather than find everything as it should be at the 7202 Gunn Highway office, the deputy discovered the body of a man in his 50s. The discovery was made around 9:15 p.m. tonight, Nov. 20. Detectives have now stepped in and are investigating the death, which “appears to be a suicide,” a sheriff’s office media release said. The man appears to have suffered a “self-inflicted gunshot wound.” A gun was found near the body, which was near the rear entrance to the building.
