Area school children are invited to take part in the annual event that gives kids a chance to have fun while learning math.
Westfield Citrus Park will turn into a math maze next month when the annual event "Math At The Mall" takes place. The event, set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 11, is a collaboration between Hillsborough County Elementary Mathematics Council and the mall. This marks the event's 10th year. On May 11, students in grades K-5 will head to the mall for a mathematical scavengar hunt for a chance to win prizes. Teachers will host math challenge stations throughout the mall, as well. The first 200 students that register at the event will receive $5 off at Grimaldi's Pizzeria. This is event is free and open to the public. A couple is accused of stealing a chair from inside Westfield Citrus Park mall.
Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a little help from Carrollwood and Northdale area residents to a couple they say stole an $1,800 lounge chair from Westfield Citrus Park. The incident unfolded last night, Jan. 7, after the 8021 Citrus Park Town Center Drive mall had closed down for the evening. The couple, deputies say, remained inside after the doors were locked. Around 9:55 p.m., the two suspects grabbed a chair from the concourse area and carried it through the emergency exit and into the parking lot. The female suspect is described as being between 17 and 20 years of age. She is about 5 feet, 4 inches to 5 feet, 6 inches in height and has long dark hair and weighs approximately 130 pounds. Power Walk for Dress for Success held this past Saturday drew dozens and raised thousands.
On Saturday, dozens of people took to Westfield Citrus Park Mall to walk for a good cause. It was the inaugural Power Walk for Dress for Success, a nationwide event that raises money for Dress For Success. The 5k walk promoted the Health and Wellness initiative of the Professional Women’s Group, a program which provides successfully employed Dress for Success clients with a network of support, practical information and inspiration to achieve self-defined success. More than 60 people showed up at Westfield Citrus Park early Saturday morning to walk. The event raised $8,000. "Our inaugural walk was a success and we look forward to next year," wrote Amanda M. Uliano, President of the Board of Directors for Dress for Success Tampa Bay.

The first Dress For Success Power Walk event will take place Saturday at Westfield Citrus Park Mall.
This Saturday morning, two great things will combine for a great cause: exercise and shopping. The first annual Power Walk for Dress for Success will take place at Westfield Citrus Park Mall (8021 Citrus Park Town Center) starting at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15. The 5K (3.1 mile) walk will take place inside the mall. Proceeds will be donated to Dress For Success Tampa Bay. About 75 walkers are expected. Registrations are still being accepted for the walk. Each year Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office handles thousands of cases of identity theft. From stolen social security numbers to forged checks, the bottom line is when the wrong information lands in the hands of criminals it can have a devastating affect on the lives of many. As a way to help the community, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is partnering with ABC Action News and Westfield Citrus Park Mall to provide free document shredding for residents this weekend.
