The Carrollwood Area Business Association will host a free networking event.
Are you a new business owner interested in meeting new people? Have you been in Carrollwood for some time and want to get more connected. The Carrollwood Area Business Association is hosting a coffee mixer for the public this week. The CABA Coffee takes place at Bay Cities Insurance, 16921 Gunn Highway, Suite B in Odessa, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15. The coffee event gives business owners and community members a chance to meet each other face to face and network. CABA is one of Carrollwood's longest standing business organizations and welcomes nonmembers to attend up to two CABA events for free. CABA will sponsor a networking event on the links April 10.
Golfers are invited to play and network Wednesday, April 10 when the Carrollwood Area Business Association hosts Links & Drinks at the TPC Tampa Bay golf course, 5300 Lutz Lake Fern Rd., Lutz. The event will begin at 2:30 p.m. with registration with tee-off at 3 p.m. All level of players are welcome to participate in the scramble. A membership drive held by the Carrollwood Area Business Association paid off for the organization when they announced recently that 88 new members joined in November. "Our membership came together to make the association bigger and better. We’ve certainly achieved both goals," said Robert Cunningham of ADT Security and Board Director of Membership. "The level of attendance, excitement and business getting done at our meetings is at an all time high." Cunningham, along with CABA President Lea Orchard of Great Clips and CABA Executive Director Maria Patterson facilitated the membership drive. It's got more than 400 members representing 300 businesses. And leaders say they want more. To make that happen, the Carrollwood Area Business Association is hosting the largest membership drive it's conducted in its 26-year history. The 2-day pirate-themed membership drive titled, "We Arrgh Building Our Membership," will be held on Nov. 14-15. Nielsen is president of the Carrollwood Kiwanis Club.
He's one half of a real estate team, a member of the Carrollwood Area Business Association and wrapping up his term as president of Carrollwood's Kiwanis Club. Dick Nielsen, 69, has roots that sprouted in Iowa and landed in Carrollwood. Members of the Carrollwood Area Business Association are helping put the free event together.
Boxing and karate exhibitions. Live music. A bounce house for the kids. Those are just a few offerings during Saturday's Tampa Bay Tailgate Kickoff Party at Grand Plaza shopping center near the intersection of Bearss Avenue and north Dale Mabry Highway. The event will begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, with free food available until 6 p.m. Live music goes until 9 p.m. The community event is designed to support the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and USF Bulls kicking off football season, said Maria Patterson, executive director of the Carrollwood Area Business Association, who are helping put the tailgate together and handing out new CABA directories at the event.
