Bluegrass, Responsible Pet Ownership and More Rain

What's the buzz in Carrollwood?

1st Annual Responsible Pet Ownership Day: Ok, so this isn't this weekend but you may want to put it on your radar. Friends of HCAS, Inc., Hillsborough County Animal Services and Groovy Cats and Dogs cordially invite you to the 1st Annual Responsible Pet Ownership Day on Saturday, Sept. 21. Come tour the facility!

Get Your Irish On: St. Patrick’s Day isn’t right around the corner, but we’re half way there. At O’Brien’s Irish Pub in Brandon, that’s cause enough for celebration.  The party gets started Friday, Sept. 13 with live music and continues over the weekend. Brandon Patch has all the details.

Outlaw Bluegrass: In the mood for something musical this weekend? Grandpa’s Cough Medicine Outlaw Bluegrass band is bringing its special sound to the Fogartyville Community Media & Arts Center in Sarasota on Friday, Sept. 13. For ticket details, check out Sarasota Patch.

Beach Volleyball Anyone?: If you love sand-kicking, serious beach volleyball action, head on over to Vinoy Park for the APV St. Pete Open this weekend, Sept. 13-15. Tickets start at $15. Just visit St. Pete Patch for more details.

Live Theater Old, Old School Style: If you like the idea of getting a lesson in history while taking in a live theatrical performance, stop by the old Tampa Bay Hotel (also known as the University of Tampa’s Henry B. Plant Museum) this Sunday, Sept. 15, for live character performances. Check out South Tampa Patch for times and ticket information.

Rain Back in the Picture: As you plan out your weekend fun, be sure to bring an umbrella along. Rain chances are back up in the 30 to 40 percent rain with scattered thunderstorms possible Friday through Sunday. Expect highs in the low 90s throughout the weekend, too.
