Justice for Jolie Group Meeting in New Location

Members seek to strengthen Florida's animal cruelty laws.

Carrollwood area residents interested in working to help strengthen the state’s animal cruelty laws are invited to attend an upcoming meeting of the group Justice for Jolie.

While past meetings have taken place at the Carrollwood Cultural Center, the July 10 location is different. The group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the employee break root at Publix, 12026 Anderson Road, according to Lauren Dudley, president of Equestrian Inc.

Equestrian Inc. is a nonprofit horse rescue that made headlines after it took in Jolie, a malnourished thoroughbred. The horse was seized from her owner by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. Jolie’s death sparked the nonprofit’s supporters and others to form the group that is now championing animal rights.
