Actors Sought for Cultural Center Musical Production

"Hairspray" is coming to the center and many actors are needed by MAS Community Theater

With an extensive resume from Largo Cultural Center and Eight O’ Clock Theater, Domenic Bisesti will be making his Carrollwood directorial debut at Carrollwood Cultural Center with “Hairspray.”

The musical takes audiences to Baltimore in 1960 and features plus-size
heroine Tracy Turnblad, whose passion for dancing wins her a spot on a local dance TV program.  Like many of today’s reality TV contestants, Turnblad becomes transformed from an outsider to an overnight teen celebrity.

Carrollwood Cultural Center is seeking 30 actors and actresses ages 14 and up  for an open audition to fill 30 roles. “Hairspray” auditions are 1 to 4 p.m. on May 19, and 7 to 10 p.m. on May 20 at the Carrollwood Cultural Center, 4537 Lowell Road.
