Police Chief to Share Breakfast at Cannella Elementary

Chief Jane Castor will visit the school March 5 as part of National School Breakfast Week.

As part of National School Breakfast Week (Monday, March 4 through Friday, March 8), Hillsborough County Public Schools and Tampa Chief of Police Jane Castor are hosting a breakfast celebration at Cannella Elementary School on Tuesday, March 5, from 7:20 a.m. to 8:20 a.m.

Chief Castor will serve and eat breakfast with Cannella Elementary School students. Radio Disney will provide music, games and giveaways.

The national School Breakfast Program makes it possible for all school children to receive a free, nutritious breakfast every school day.

National School Breakfast Week aims to increase the awareness of the School Breakfast Program among students and parents.

The district’s Student Nutrition Services department created a breakfast item for each day of National School Breakfast Week. Selections include fruity French toast sticks on Monday, berry parfait on Tuesday, chicken ‘n waffles sandwich on Wednesday, blueberry granola oatmeal on Thursday and a cheesy scrambler on Friday.
