Gaither High, Sweetbay Partner for Tailgate Party

The party will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7.

It's time to dig that silver and blue out of the closet.

On Friday, Sept. 7, Sweetbay and Gaither High School are partnering for a tailgate party from 4 until 7 p.m. at the supermarket's Carrollwood location, 15692 N. Dale Mabry Highway.

Wear your Gaither school colors and receive free entry, plus free food - shaved beef, sausages, hot dogs and cupcakes - and drinks.

Don't have anything in your wardrobe to represent Gaither? There's a $2 "voluntary donation" to get in, and all funds will go to Gaither.

Raffle tickets will be given out at the tailgate for prizes that will be awarded during Gaither's first home game against Leto High, which starts at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7 at Gaither, 16200 N. Dale Mabry.

Kevin the Meatbay butcher will also be on hand at the party.

Sweetbay store manager Rodney Koschman wants the tailgate party to signify future partnerships with community organizations.

"Using his experience from events such as Taste of New Tampa, we came up with the tailgate idea to celebrate Gaither's first home game and help them with their fundraising efforts," said Taryn Jones, marketing manager for Sweetbay.
