Food Trucks Rally for Ben Hill Middle School

Carrollwood area residents can eat out for a good cause Saturday, May 11.

Hungry, but not sure what sounds good?

The folks at Ben Hill Middle School have plenty of solutions to offer you today, May 11. A gourmet food truck rally is being staged at the 5200 Ehrlich Road school from noon to 5 p.m. Presented by Generation Food Truck, the rally is anticipated to draw more than 50 food trucks from all over the Tampa Bay area while serving as a fundraiser for the local school.

Generation Food Truck is spearheaded by Carrollwood’s own Jeremy and Candy Gomez. Generation is an organization that puts on food truck rallies throughout Tampa Bay and beyond. The Gomez family also owns “Not Your Ordinary Food Truck,” a restaurant on wheels that specializes in wild game.

Not Your Ordinary Food Truck is making its return to the road this week after a two-month hiatus and will be onsite at Ben Hill, Jeremy Gomez said.

“What can I say – I’ve been busy,” Gomez quipped about his own truck’s absence from the food truck scene. With Generation Food Truck playing host to rallies as widespread as Tampa, Ocala, Gainesville and New Port Richey in recent weeks, the hiatus makes sense.
