Mothers Against Drunk Driving and Gaither High School Display New Driver’s Education Simulator

Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and Gaither High School are kicking off the week before prom with events all week to educate the students about the dangers of drinking and driving.

Underage drinking has become a teen epidemic.  More than 6,000 people die each year as a result of underage drinking — more than all other illegal drugs combined. During the week before prom, and with graduation and summer coming soon, we are hoping to educate the students about the dangers of underage drinking, and drinking and driving.

Speakers include: Marie Whelan, Principal at Gaither, Dennis Holt, Supervisor, Secondary Social Studies and Driver Education, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department, Tampa Police Department, Florida Highway Patrol, Sharon Hall, MADD Program Specialist, Lee Holt, Geico.
