Durant's Record Season To Remember, Last Game Photos and Video

Life in the stands this season ended for the Durant Cougars football team on Nov. 23, with the team's first loss in a record-breaking season to remember. Long remembered will be the team's unity and its sense of family and spunk as it set Durant High's record for best football season ever, with a perfect-season, 10-0, finish going into the 2012 Florida High School Athletic Association's (FHSAA) Class 7A-Region 2 playoff action.

The Cougars, following their district crown, started sporting T-shirts that read: "Back 2 Back Champions" (on the back) and "We Are Durant 10-0" on the front.

They wore those shirts leaving the fieldhouse Nov. 23, after the team's only loss of the season, a 21-14 upset to Newsome, which ended the Cougars' post-season bid for a state crown.

What remains, though, is the spirit and heart that marked the season, and "the sting" they will take with them into next year's season of play.
