Senior Programs at Hillsborough County At Northdale Park
Many of the programs are free.
Hillsborough County offers a variety of programming to keep seniors active in the Carrollwood and Northdale area.
The following senior programs are offered at Northdale Park, 15550 Spring Pine Drive in Tampa, according to the county's parks and recreation department.
- Fitness With Your Dog
Northdale Park, beginning Jan. 14, every Monday from 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. FREE

It’s the hottest new way to exercise and a fantastic way to spend quality time with your dog for a special bonding experience, while learning from professional trainers! Just bring your dog to compete in a 12 exercise stations throughout Northdale Park. Participation is open to well-behaved dogs that get along with other dogs. A leash is required.
- Pickleball Games
Northdale Park, every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from Noon – 2 p.m. FREE

Picklebal games are offered at Northdale Park for those who already know how to play.
- Pickleball Lessons
Northdale Park, every Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. - Noon FREE
There are more than 11,000 senior citizens playing pickleball in the state of Florida alone! Pickleball is very similar to tennis except it is played with a plastic ball and paddles. The court is one-forth the size of a tennis court, thus virtually no running is involved.
- Line Dance Class For Beginners
Northdale Park, every Monday from 9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m.. a.m. FREE
Learn to line dance to some of the latest country hits. This class is especially geared to those senior citizens who have never danced before.
- Line Dance Extravaganza
Northdale Park, Jan. 26 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. FREE
Come out and learn all the newest line dances from more than 12 professional instructors from around the bay area. Various beginner and intermediate dances are taught throughout the day.
- Line Dance For Intermediate Dancers
Northdale Park, every Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. FREE
This class is geared to the many seniors that already have some line dancing background.
- Salsa Lessons
Northdale Park, beginning Jan. 14, every Monday from 11 a.m. - Noon FREE
Join this exciting new class, as dance professional Mary May teaches how to dance to all the hits. No partner is necessary.
- Stretch ‘N Tone
Northdale Park, every Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. FREE
The Stretch ‘N Tone class is a fabulous class for seniors wanting to stretch their muscles and bones, as well as tone up their bodies.
- Tennis Lessons
Northdale Park, beginning Jan. 15, every Tuesday, from 9 a.m. - 10 a.m. $8
Low key tennis instruction and games for seniors are conducted by United States Professional Tennis Association professionals.
