2011 Hillsborough County Neighborhoods Conference to be Held in April

Want to learn more about building a sense of community in your neck of the woods?

The county's neighborhoods conference is offering that opportunity. The event will be held from 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on April 2 at Hillsborough Community College's Dale Mabry campus, 4001 Tampa Bay Blvd.

Leaders from over 1,000 neighborhood, civic, homeowners and crime watch associations in the county are being invited to register. The event will give people an opportunity to make their neighborhoods safe, attractive and friendly, and to connect with local businesses and government officials.

This year, 24 new workshops will be offered on topics ranging from crime prevention through environmental design to code enforcement.

An exhibit area will allow businesses to present information and answer questions citizens may have about services. The conference will also feature a luncheon and remarks from the Board of County Commissioners.

Early registration is $15. After March 23, registration goes up to $20.
