Just before 4 a.m., 21-year-old Jaquavias Henderson was killed at Fletcher Avenue and Orange Grove Drive during a traffic crash, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
Henderson, of 6505 Alta Monte Drive in Tampa, was crossing the road and entered the path of a westbound 2008 Ford Edge driven by Sharon Boyette, 54, of 7520 Avocet Drive in Wesley Chapel, according to the sheriff's office.
No charges are expected, and the investigation is ongoing.
All lanes of Fletcher Ave between Orange Grove Drive and Lake Magdalene Boulevard were closed for some time. Eastbound lanes of Fletcher opened before 6 a.m. The sheriff's office announced that all lanes of traffic had reopened around 7:40 a.m.
