Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies have identified the man wanted in a stabbing that took place in the Carrollwood area July 24.

According to sheriff’s office spokeswoman Debbie Carter, former professional wrestler “The Future” Donovan Ruddick, 29, is responsible for stabbing his girlfriend around 8:30 p.m.

Ruddick’s real name is Brian McGee, Carter said.

The sheriff’s office provided the spelling of McGee for Ruddick’s off-stage name. Wrestling sources say it’s McGhee and say he originally hails from the St. Louis area.

The crime that spurred the manhunt for Ruddick unfolded Wednesday night at 8451 Del Lago in Del Lago Apartments, just south of Carrollwood.

Ruddick is described as a black male about 6 feet, 7 inches in height. He weighs about 280 pounds, has black shoulder-length dreadlocks and two tattoos on his right upper arm. The first tattoo says “Fat Fat” and the second says “Brianna” and has a cross.

He is believed to be driving a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix that’s silver in color and has a black racing stripe. The four-door vehicle has the Florida tag "W N I," Carter wrote in an email to media.

Anyone who has seen Ruddick is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 813-247-8200. Tips can also be called into Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477.

Ruddick signed a developmental contract with World Wrestling Entertainment in 2010, according to Wrestling Inc.

Authorities haven’t released the name of the victim or her condition at this time.
