We compile the odd, unusual and 'oh my gosh' police items from throughout the Tampa Bay region.

Kittens Found in Freezer

Instead of the beer she was looking for, a woman visiting a St. Petersburg man this week found four kittens wrapped up in sandwich bags in his freezer, St. Pete Patch reports.

One of the kittens didn't make it, but the three others are doing fine and recovering at the SPCA Tampa Bay, Largo Patch reports. As for the man, 49-year-old Rodney J. Blanchard, he was arrested and charged with four counts of animal cruelty, plus one count of battery for pushing the woman. And to top it off, Blanchard's son was charged with attempted murder this week.

Deputies: Sub Shop Rager Had Pot in Underwear

A man who went on a rampage at a Holiday sub shop was later found to be hiding marijuana in his underwear, New Port Richey Patch reports.

After Robert William Schulz, 52, was asked to leave the Great Subs restaurant on U.S. 19, Pasco County authorities say he began throwing items around the establishment and punching the soda fountain. He also grabbed a table and pulled up on it, causing it to “break free” from the floor and wreaking $250 worth of damage, according to the arrest report.

After he was booked into the Land O' Lakes jail, Schulz reportedly took a bag of pot out of his underwear and handed it to a deputy, telling him he "forgot" to report it as contraband.

Schulz is charged with possession of marijuana, introduction of contraband and criminal mischief.
