Mother, Daughter Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide

Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies say Julie Hill, 68, shot her 45-year-old daughter before turning the gun on herself.

A Carrollwood woman and her daughter are both dead following what Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies are saying is likely a murder-suicide.

The incident unfolded Wednesday, April 24 just before 11 p.m. when the sheriff’s office received a 911 call from a home on Grainary Avenue.

When deputies arrived at the home, they found Julie B. Hill, 68, “conscious and breathing and with what appeared to be single gunshot wound to the chest," Det. Larry McKinnon, sheriff’s office spokesman, wrote in a release. A .38 caliber revolver was found on the floor next to her.
