Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Participating in National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

Day is a joint venture among agencies

To combat illegal pill mills and prevent prescription drug abuse, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is participating in the Drug Enforcement Agency's National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.

On Saturday, the HCSO and the Tampa Police Department will collect unused or expired prescription medications from residents to prevent drugs from getting into the wrong hands.

The drugs will be collected at four Sweetbay locations on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Citizens will be able to drop off prescription medication they don't use, and can remain anonymous.
