Update: Gas Leak Cleared Near Carrollwood Einstein Bros. Bagels
Residents were asked to stay away from the area for a time Friday afternoon.
Update 5 p.m. June 7: The area around Einstein Bros. is now open after crews fixed a gas leak, said Nacole Revette of Hillsborough County Fire Rescue. Revette said the leak was caused by a cut in a gas pipe.
The leak took place on a construction site near the eatery, according to an Einstein Bros. spokeswoman.
Earlier: Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies are on the scene of a gas leak near Einstein Bros. Bagels in Carrollwood.

Details are still emerging, but sheriff’s office spokesman Det. Larry McKinnon says traffic is being diverted away from the 10802 N. Dale Mabry Highway eatery.
Motorists, he said, should avoid the area.
