A fire displaced the residents of eight Davis Islands apartments late Monday night, fire officials reported.
Tampa Fire Rescue personnel arrived at the scene at the at 20 Davis Blvd. around 11:45 p.m. Monday to find flames coming from the roof of the two-story apartment building.
The entire building was evacuated as firefighters spent about 30 minutes trying to get the blaze under control, Captain Lonnie Benniefield said in a news release. About 41 responders were on the scene.
No injuries were reported.
Eight of the building's 10 apartments are occupied, Benniefield said, and those apartments will not be habitable until damage repairs are made and the power is turned back on at the complex.
The Red Cross was called to the scene to aid residents who were evacuated.
Investigators were still trying to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
