Update: Participants Identified in Road Rage Incident

One person was stabbed with an ice pick in the incident this morning at Waters and Manhattan avenues, according to the sheriff's office

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office identified the participants in a road rage incident they say occurred near Waters and Manhattan avenues around 9:30 a.m. today.

According to witnesses, a 1994 Honda Accord driven by Adelson Wathson, 20, of 3509 North 10 Street, and a 1995 Hyundai Accent driven by Alcisviades Polanco, 62, of 4831 East 99 Avenue, were traveling south on Manhattan Avenue.

Wathson accelerated into oncoming traffic and went around Polanco, according to the sheriff's office. Then, Adelson got in front of Polanco and slammed on his brakes, blocking the roadway.

Adelson walked to Polanco's car, and the two got into an argument, according to the sheriff's office.

Then, Polanco, armed with an ice pick, stabbed Adelson in the head and arm, according to the sheriff's office. Adelson was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital and listed in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been filed.
