Deputies Arrest Suspect in Carrollwood Burglaries

DNA match from blood sample helps solve case.

A 39-year-old man was charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of grand theft and two counts of criminal mischief in connection with two cases in the Carrollwood area, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Paul Maggese Jr., 39, of 1911 93rd Ave. in Tampa, was charged on Wednesday.

According to the sheriff's office, on June 29, the at 4309 Gunn Highway was burglarized. Glass was shattered on the front door of the business, and the suspect removed a flat screen TV.

On July 6, at 5309 Ehrlich Road was also burglarized by someone who shattered glass on the front door of that business. Again, a flat screen TV was stolen.

During the investigation into the nail salon burglary, detectives found a blood sample from the scene and submitted it to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).

Results from the FDLE matched the blood to Paul Maggese Jr. He was arrested Wednesday.
