Crime Watch: Find Out What the Trends Are in Carrollwood

The District 1 Neighborhood Watch bulletin is out

Carrollwood and Northdale are divided into two districts by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office - District 1 (Northdale) and District 3 (Carrollwood).

According to the District 1 Neighborhood Watch Bulletin for September, the total number of crimes reported in District 1 for August were down about 15 percent compared to July.

Meanwhile, residential burglaries were up about 6 percent, and vehicle burglaries dropped by about 29 percent.

Personal robberies and vehicle thefts were down about 58 percent and 16 percent, respectively.

  • September is National Preparedness Month. Government agencies are encouraging Hillsborough County residents to prepare for natural disasters such as hurricanes by visiting the FEMA website, www.ready.gov.
  • The HCSO Ranch Run is Sept. 17. The run/walk will start and finish at Temple Terrace Elementary School, 124 Flotto Avenue. Check in is at 7 a.m., and the run starts at 8 a.m. For more information, go to www.active.com.
