Auto Burglar Stole Credit Cards, Bought Fireworks

Hillsborough deputies believe they have identified the man responsible for several thefts, including three in the Lutz area. Now they need residents' help to make an arrest.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the man its deputies say may be responsible for a number of recent auto burglaries in the Lutz area.

According to sheriff’s office spokeswoman Debbie Carter, Anthony J. Woods, 24, has been identified by detectives as the person involved in three auto burglary at the LA Fitness Center parking lot, 17631 N. Dale Mabry Highway. He has also been connected with a burglary in MiraBay in Apollo Beach.

“In each of the burglaries, the vehicle window is broken and items such as credit cards, wallets, and cash stolen from inside the vehicle,” Carter wrote in a media release. “The various credit cards were then used to purchase over $2,500 worth of fireworks from various firework vendors.”
