Authorities Searching for Suspects in Credit Card Fraud

Two men were involved in the incident, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is searching for two men they say are suspects in a credit card fraud investigation.

The investigation began on Feb. 3. That day, between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m., a woman stopped by Burger Monger, 10412 N. Dale Mabry Highway, and accidentally left her wallet on a restaurant table when she left, according to authorities.

When she got home and realized she didn't have her wallet, she called the restaurant to see if anyone could find it. When they were unable to locate her her wallet, she called the sheriff's office to report the theft, according to authorities.

Later that day, two suspects entered the Sweetbay Supermarket at 10617 Sheldon Road and tried to use the stolen credit card. It's unknown if they were successful in making a purchase.

Four additional transactions at surrounding businesses were conducted using the card, authorities said.
