Arrest Made in Whiskey Park North Shooting

He is charged with accessory after the fact in Saturday's incident that left a 23-year-old man dead.

An arrest has been made in connection to the early Saturday morning shooting at a Carrollwood bar.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Jordan Lee McKenna, 27, and Pablo Bonilla, 23, got into a verbal confrontation shortly after 1 a.m. while inside Whiskey Park North, 11921 N. Dale Mabry Hwy.

They were separated before before any further escalation, a report stated.

Just after 3 a.m., Bonilla, his girlfriend, and several other people were returning to their vehicles after the club closed when a blue Dodge Charger driven by McKenna stopped next to them. An unknown white male got out of the car and opened fire, striking Bonilla and a second victim.

The shooter then got back into McKenna's vehicle and both men fled the scene, according to the sheriff's office.

Both victims were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital where Bonilla later died and the second victim was treated and released. That person is not being identified by the sheriff's office at this time.

Detectives obtained a description of the suspect vehicle and the identity of the driver, McKenna, from witnesses, according to a media release. A warrant was issued for McKenna for accessory after the fact to second-degree murder and accessory after the fact to attempted second-degree murder.

Homicide detectives responded to 112 Seven Oaks Drive in Mulberry in an attempt to contact McKenna, and with assistance from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, he was taken into custody without incident, a media release stated.
 
McKenna was booked into the Polk County Jail where he awaits transfer to Hillsborough County, according to the release.

The investigation is ongoing as detectives work to identify and locate the shooter.
