Armed Robbers Caught on Video, Deputies Say

Four men are accused of robbing an elderly man at gunpoint and then going to locations throughout Hillsborough County to use his credit cards. Deputies are looking for help to identify the suspects.

An elderly St. Petersburg man’s trip to the Hard Rock Casino was anything but lucky, Hillsborough County deputies say.

The man got turned around on his way back home and found himself on a road he wasn’t familiar with. It was there, shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 8, that a red, two-door sedan stopped in the middle of the road. A man, armed with a gun, got out of the car and approached the victim’s.  The suspect pointed the gun at the victim and demanded his wallet and cell phone.

Hillsborough deputies believe there are four suspects in the case. They say the men have attempted to use the victim’s credit cards at locations throughout Hillsborough, including the Walmart at 5220 N. Dale Mabry Highway in Northdale and the Grow Financial branch near Temple Terrace at 5250 E. Busch Blvd.
