1 Man Arrested in Lake Magdalene Burglary, 2nd Suspect Still on the Run

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is still searching for a second man wanted in connection with a residential burglary that occurred May 14 in the Carrollwood area.

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies have one man in custody and continue to look for a second man thought to be connected to a morning residential burglary in the Lake Magdalene area of Carrollwood May 14.

Deputies received a call about a burglary in progress from a home in the 15100 block of Lake Magdalene Boulevard just before noon May 14. When they arrived, they found that one suspect had left the scene in a car and the other had run away on foot and possibly jumped into a nearby lake. That prompted a search of the lake by the sheriff’s office’s dive team.

Deputies were able to catch one of the men and now have him in custody, said Debbie Carter, sheriff’s office spokeswoman.
