AUDITIONS - Sex Please, We're Sixty

Auditions for Sex Please, We're Sixty by Michael and Susan Parker. Directed by Carlyn Postle.

Mrs. Stancliffe's Rose Cottage Bed & Breakfast has been successful for many years. Her guests (nearly all women) return year after year. Her next door neighbor, "Bud the Stud" believes they come to spend time with him in romantic liaisons. Her other neighbor and would-be suitor Henry Mitchell has developed a blue pill to increase the libido of menopausal women. Bud gets his hands on some of the pills. The women find out what he is up to, so they plan a retaliation and the fun begins!

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS

Bud Davis (able to play 60+) is the next-door neighbor to Mrs. Stancliffe’s Rose Cottage Bed & Breakfast. He is weak, frail looking, however, over the years, he has become renowned among the female guests as “Bud the Stud”. He enchants all of them with his silver tongue and sexual prowess.

Mrs. Stancliffe (able to play 60+) is the owner of Rose Cottage Bed & Breakfast; she is a precise woman in dress, manner, speech and punctuality. She is intolerant of Bud’s ‘hanky-panky’, with her guests. She is pursued by her next-door neighbor Henry, she refuses to let him into her life.

Henry Mitchell (able to play 60+) is a retired chemist and Mrs. Stancliffe’s ‘Gentleman Caller’. He is a mild mannered man who has proposed to her every afternoon for 20 years. He is always the perfect gentleman.

Victoria Ambrose (able to play 50 - 60+) is a renowned author who writes steamy romantic novels. She pines for romance in her personal life, but finds none. She sees Bud as the shallow, insincere Casanova that he is.

Hillary Hudson (able to play 50 - 60+) is beautiful well educated, articulate, and sophisticated in both manner and dress. She is an old friend and co-worker of Henry’s.

Charmaine Beauregard (able to play 50 - 60+) is the quintessential Southern Belle. She is definitely here at Rose Cottage for ‘Bud the Stud’. Her entire life seems to be run by her overactive libido.
