Workshops to Teach How to "Keep Your Boat Afloat"
Workshops start today; One will be held in Carrollwood
Keep Your Boat Afloat, the 7th Division of District 7 Coast Guard Auxiliary, hosts informational workshops throughout the county that teach boating skills and seamanship. They share knowledge and discuss equipment that boaters must have to be safe on the water.
To accomplish this, they utilize videos, power point presentations and hands–on demonstrations with life jackets, flares and marine radios. Attendees also learn how to tie different useful knots.
The programs are geared toward an adult audience and last 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
