Tampa Bay Area Under Tropical Storm Watch

The tropical storm warning zone has also been extended to include the area from Englewood to Tarpon Springs.

 

As rains produced by Tropical Storm Debby continue to pound the Tampa Bay area, the National Hurricane Center is now saying there’s a possibility she’ll be with us for a while.

In a report issued just before 5:30 p.m. today, June 24, the hurricane center said it was extending the tropical storm watch area south to Sarasota County. The watch zone now includes the entire Tampa Bay area.

The tropical storm warning zone has also expanded. It currently extends from Englewood to Tarpon Springs.

The current projected track for the storm has it moving north toward Alabama. The storm is expected to stick around through Friday.
