The Rebirth of Stall Road and Dale Mabry

Once, it was a bustling Carrollwood intersection that was home to Denny's, Borders bookstore and Perkins Restaurant & Bakery.

But over the past few years, bankruptcy and the struggling economy forced the three businesses at Stall Road and Dale Mabry Highway to close their doors, leaving an obvious void and causing residents to wonder

Lately, it appears that things are changing for the better.

Construction crews have almost finished work at Chase bank, which will replace what used to be Denny's at 12703 N. Dale Mabry Highway.

Across the street, the Borders bookstore at 12500 N. Dale Mabry will become Florida Medical Clinic, according to a recently placed sign in front of the abandoned property.

And next door at what used to be Perkins Restaurant & Bakery, 12650 N. Dale Mabry, a drive-through restaurant called PDQ will be moving in.

Now that business is picking up at Stall Road and Dale Mabry, what do you think about the new additions to Carrollwood's landscape?
