Carrollwood and Northdale commuters who use Florida Avenue to get home at night might want to take note. A water main break on northbound Florida Avenue is expected to keep the roadway closed to traffic at least through Thursday afternoon.
According to the Tampa Water Department, all northbound lanes between Fowler and Fletcher avenues remain closed this morning for water main repairs. Through traffic is being routed to Fowler Avenue to bypass the construction zone. The detour begins at 131st Avenue for residents of the area.
At this point, Tampa Water officials think the roadway will be ready for traffic again by Thursday, Dec. 13 around 3:30 p.m. That estimate, however, depends on how quickly repairs and road restoration progress.
