LEC Offering New Painting Class

The Life Enrichment Center is registering now for a new six-week class for adults called Painting in Pastels. 

In this class, students will receive an introduction to the basics of pastel painting, starting loose and abstract, blocking in shapes and colors, then working to refine places of interest; finding values (light lights and dark darks), composition and blending techniques.  

This class will expand artistic knowledge and skills.  Open to artists of all levels.

Painting in Pastels will be held on Mondays from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. from Oct. 17 until Nov. 21.  The class meets at the Life Enrichment Center, 9704 North Boulevard, Tampa. 

ost for the class is $75 for Life Enrichment Center members or $90 for non-members.  Annual membership starts at $30.

An award-winning artist named Lorraine Potocki will be teaching the workshop. Her medium, pastels, allows her to capture the beauty of Florida's beaches, wildlife, and environment. She has exhibited her work widely throughout the Tampa Bay area and beyond.

Class size is limited and requires advance registration.  There will be no refunds once the workshop begins.
