Internet Down at Hillsborough Libraries

A power outage occurred earlier today.

Branches throughout the county remain open, but patrons can’t get on the web.

Planning to head to a Hillsborough County Public Library today to get some work done online? You might want to think twice.

According to the library system, a power outage at the main library in downtown Tampa is to blame for the spotty Internet access found now at branches throughout the county. In addition, the library system’s website, hcplc.org, is also down.

Despite the Internet glitches, libraries remain open, according to a media release. Visitors can still select and check out books and other materials.

Libraries in Carrollwood that are affected include the Jimmie B. Keel Regional Library, 2902 W. Bearss Avenue.
