Five Things To Know Today: Thursday, Aug. 25

A daily digest

Here are five things you can do or learn more about today:

  • Making lunch or dinner plans? If you stop by GrillSmith in Carrollwood, proceeds from a couple of dishes at the restaurant go toward a fundraiser for Calyx and Beau Schenecker, two teens who were killed in January. The fundraiser ends on Aug. 28.
  • The North Tampa Chamber of Commerce is meeting from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. today at 926 Fowler Avenue. The cost is $12, whether or not you have lunch.
  • If you're a breast cancer survivor or supporter of finding a cure, Tate & Tilly is hosting an event from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. today where proceeds go toward a team in the Susan G. Komen race for a cure. The store is at 14349 N. Dale Mabry Highway.
  • Do you work for a nonprofit organization, or volunteer at one? If so, we're looking for nonprofits to feature on Tuesdays. Email your suggestions and your contact information to camille.spencer@patch.com.
  • Finally, if your child needs homework help, the Jimmie Keel Regional Library offers it - live. Find out more here.
