Five Things To Know This Weekend

A weekly digest on Patch

Here are five things you can do or learn more about this weekend:

  • Get out those canned goods today! The 19th Annual Letter Carriers Food Drive will be held - at your mailbox. The idea is to "Stamp Out Hunger" by allowing your mail carrier to collect non-perishable food donations as they deliver along their postal routes. To help out, place your donation on or near your mailbox, and your postal worker will do the rest.
  • Stop by the Jimmie B. Keel Regional Library with the kids so they can practice reading to a certified therapy dog from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. today.
  • Got a NOOK, but don't know how to use it? Barnes & Noble in Carrollwood has a class at 9:30 a.m. today designed to help increase your NOOK abilities.
  • Sign the kids up for a sport at the Roy Haynes Recreation Center, 1902 S. Village Drive.
  • Finally, go to Florida Blood Services, 15427 N. Dale Mabry Highway, to donate blood. Make an appointment or just drop by. For more information, call 813-964-1354.
