Five Things To Know on Wednesday, May 11, from Bake Sales to Food Drives

A daily digest on Patch

Here are five things to do or learn more about today:

  • Want to contribute to a food drive? On May 14, the USPS will be holding its 19th annual "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive at your mail box. Just leave your donation on or near your mailbox, and your postal worker will do the rest.
  • Craving baked goods? Stop by 4004 Braesgate Lane from 2 p.m. today until all the goodies are gone. The proceeds for this bake sale benefit Joey's Voice for Autism Awareness. Find out more by emailing joeysvoice@ymail.com.
  • Are you a blogger, or have you always wanted to have your voice heard? Check out the "Local Voices" tab on our site and email camille.spencer@patch.com if you want to sign up to become a Patch blogger.
  • Do you work for a nonprofit, or volunteer at one? Every Tuesday, we shine some light on a local nonprofit organization. Email us your suggestions at camille.spencer@patch.com.
