Five Things To Know on Thursday, May 5, from World Trade Center Beams on Display to Shred-A-Thons

Here are five things to know or mark your calendars for:

  • A steel beam from one of the World Trade Center towers will be in display this weekend. The beam can be seen at Westfield Citrus Park mall from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 7.
  • Get ready for Carrollwood's Relay for Life event on May 13. Find out more here.
  • The 19th Annual Letter Carriers "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive will be held on Saturday, May 14. Letter carriers will collect non-perishable food donations as they deliver mail along their postal routes. To help out, place your donation on or near your mailbox.
  • On Saturday, May 7, the Tampa Bay Professional Organizers association will be hosting a SHRED-A-THON from 9 a.m. until noon. For a $5 per box donation to the MacDonald Training Center for people with disabilities, you can bring boxes of paper that are taking up space in your house. The truck will be at the corner of Fletcher Avenue and N. Dale Mabry Highway.
